Great news! Markets are taking steps to get back to normal and Las Dalias hippy market in Ibiza won’t be left behind. On May 30th Las Dalias reopened its doors to the locals and tourists alike, welcoming visitors with colour and crafts.

As we emerge from confinement, stalls and stores are ready for visitors to Ibiza. It’s important we remember that, as normal activities return, respect for safety standards is essential worldwide. As much as we’d love to receive every visitor to Ibiza with a hug, we’ll have to refrain! And tourists should come equipped with protective equipment and willingness to use it in spaces like Las Dalias Ibiza.

What day is the hippy market in Las Dalias?

The market has reopened every Saturday from 10 am in the morning. Both entrance and parking are free, and for the first few weekends the organisers are holding music concerts: Yeshe Ryser and DJ Black Wolf are mixing live, to add to the wonderful atmosphere, on the 18th of June from 20-23:59 PM.

Will the Las Dalias hippy market be the same as before?

Several stores have managed to keep an online market going, or sold through their own existing channels, so we plan to welcome back every single merchant who previously sold crafts, fashion, local foodstuffs and souvenirs at the hippy market on a rotating schedule to allow for a reduced stall capacity. This will be implemented by separating each stall by 2 meters.

Most of the experience will remain the same on the two terraces that are home to our bar and restaurant. You can sit down for a drink without a mask, although staff will be taking extra measures, including that common areas will be frequently disinfected and food and drink will be served using the required protective clothing.

What safety measures will the hippy market Ibiza be taking?

As the first flea market in Ibiza to open its doors, Las Dalias Ibiza has adapted to all the sanitary and preventive measures that the government requires for the current phase of emergence from lockdown. Hand sanitiser will be offered on entering the market and disinfectant carpets for footwear are part of the measures Las Dalias is taking to protect visitors.

Visitors will also need to make a handful of concessions to ensure everyone’s safe browsing: the use of masks will be mandatory if a minimum of 2 metres distance cannot be kept between merchants and shoppers. Entrance will only be permitted through one of Las Dalias’ side entrances to control access, which is just off the path that leads to Can Curreu farmhouse. And touching all merchandise will be restricted as those manning stalls will be expected to disinfect every item touched by a shopper. Vendors will also accompany visitors in wearing masks.

Will Saturday be the only day we can visit the market?

The market is only foreseen to open on Saturdays in the short term but Las Dalias’ owners are preparing to adapt to measures set by authorities that will allow it to expand capacity, to welcome more of the 200 vendors soon, and to open the Night Market that takes place on Mondays.

Vendors are less worried about sales picking up than the excitement of returning to a bit of their former routine. The desire for usual activities is something people all over the world have in common and Ibiza’s locals have expressed great interest in recovering a little normality.

So as soon as it’s safe for you and your travel party to visit, we’ll welcome you with open arms (waving from 2 meters away)! Your visit to Ibiza and Las Dalias hippy market will bring us hope for the future of travelling.
