Experience the island

Ibiza is world-renowned for its paradisiacal beaches and dreamlike coves, and Cala San Vicente stands out as one of its best-preserved treasures. Located on the island's north coast, this small coastal town offers a peaceful, natural setting, ideal for those looking to disconnect and experience the true essence of Ibiza.

With its crystal-clear waters, fine sandy beaches, and surroundings of cliffs and pine forests, Cala San Vicente is the perfect destination to combine sun, sea, and nature. It also boasts a vibrant gastronomic and leisure scene, enriching the experience for visitors seeking to enjoy Ibiza at their own pace.

Cala San Vicente, an oasis in Ibiza

Known locally as Cala Sant Vicent or simply Sa Cala, this beach stretches approximately 400 meters long and 30 meters wide, blending the beauty of its clear waters with an untouched natural environment framed by pine forests and cliffs, giving it an air of isolation and tranquility.

Situated next to the small village of Sant Vicent de Sa Cala and just ten minutes by car from San Carlos, the cove enjoys the privilege of always having the silhouette of the Tagomago island on its horizon, adding a unique visual element recognizable from anywhere on the beach. Although now also accessible from the nearby village of San Juan (Sant Joan), one of Ibiza’s most beautiful towns, and relatively close to Portinatx, Cala San Vicente was practically isolated until the 1930s, reachable only by sea due to the lack of roads.

This isolation, combined with the rugged terrain of cliffs covered with junipers and pines, explains why the area remained unpopulated until well into the 18th century. Despite the arrival of tourism and the development of infrastructure in later decades, Cala San Vicente has managed to preserve a family-friendly, tranquil atmosphere, avoiding the crowds typical of more urbanized beaches. Pine forests even reach some parts of the shoreline, enhancing the feeling of being in a natural, preserved place.

On both sides of the cove, you can still see old fishermen's docks and traditional houses, evoking how coastal life was in the mid-20th century when locals mainly lived off fishing and agriculture. This blend of tradition and untouched nature makes Cala San Vicente a destination rich in history and authenticity.

Interestingly, Cala San Vicente is one of the stops on the tourist train that departs from Portinatx and covers several notable beaches and villages over about three hours, including Cala Xarraca, San Juan, the Can Marçà cave, and Cala Benirrás. This train, operating from May to October, offers a comfortable and panoramic way to discover northern Ibiza.
