Gastronomy
The ingredients that make Ibiza a varied destination for holidaymakers are unique, tasty, and full-flavoured: the weather, the location in the Mediterranean, spectacular views of nature, and an atmosphere that adapts to parties, weddings, and relaxing retreats all come to mind when thinking of this island.
When talking of all the wonderful aspects of Ibiza, how could we not mention gastronomy? There are many established, grassroots, party-worthy, and romantic restaurants in Ibiza with a selection of cuisines and experiences that promise to impress.
Let’s go for a walk through all the best places to eat on the island. Pull up a pew, pop your napkin in your collar, and enjoy these delectable recommendations:

Elevated and beachside: Casa Jondal

One of the most outstanding restaurants in Ibiza is a beach bar concept that has been elevated to make for even better views of the coast. In 2020, the Sevillian chef Rafa Zafra opened Casa Jondal in the heart of Cala Jondal, one of the most picturesque coves in Sant Josep de Sa Talaia.
Here, quality is key: from mussels in spicy seafood sauce to garlic scampi with fried eggs and potatoes, many dishes are classic Spanish cuisine. We always recommend the natural red shrimp carpaccio if you’re here in season. Your only problem will be choosing from so many tempting menu items!  2. Central and essential: Ca n'Alfredo
One of the standout restaurants in central Ibiza is Ca n'Alfredo, backed by history and tradition since its founding in the 1930s. Visit this eatery to immerse yourself in an essential journey of the island's gastronomy.

As you may know of Ibizan food, Mediterranean cuisine only allows for the best local and seasonal products, so starting at one of the restaurants in central Ibiza will pique your expectations for fresh and tasty food.

3. Traditional and speciality: S'Espartar

The location already speaks well of this establishment. Set in the town of Sant Josep de Sa Talaia, near Cala Tarida, you can consider this one of the calm and romantic restaurants in Ibiza. The chefs specialize in seafood and shellfish, all of which are fished from the Ibizan coast hours before they reach your plate.  A benchmark for traditional food, S’Espartar opened its doors to hungry patrons in 1983 and has stayed true to its traditional roots to this day.

4. Idyllic and comely: Invisa Hotels restaurants

For the days you’d prefer to stay poolside or relax close to your hotel, we have wonderful offerings for our guests at all our hotels. At every resort, our chefs select the best products to guarantee a delicious and nourishing experience to our customers.

Two of our restaurants are particularly special to us: At Es Figueral there is the best view of the sea. We suggest you visit for a pleasant lunch or dinner in an idyllic setting. On the other hand, the kitchen at Invisa Hotel Cala Blanca serves a wide variety of hot and cold dishes, with themed dinners, show cooking and a buffet for children. Don't miss them!

5. Fisherman’s choice: El Bigotes

The Cala Mastella restaurant, also known as El Bigotes, is one of the most famous and memorable establishments in Ibiza.

For the last four decades everyone can enjoy an authentic fisherman's meal for a reasonable price. Sitting adjacent to the shore of Cala Mastella, in Santa Eularia, the “whiskers” restaurant is a crowd favourite.

6. Grilled and charming: La Brasa de Ibiza

La Brasa de Ibiza has a special charm that attracts diners throughout their stay. Located on Carrer de Pere Sala, the Grill’s charm is known across the island and many hotels, resorts, and tourism stations will recommend holidaymakers visit it.   We know it has something for everyone because the tantalizing Mediterranean menu offers appetizers, rice dishes, fish, shellfish, and grilled meats accompanied by fresh veg every day.

7. Countryside orchard: La Paloma

Covertly located in a garden of orange and lemon trees within Sant Joan de Labritja, La Paloma is one of the most romantic restaurants in Ibiza. A country house open to the fresh air, you can also choose to sit outdoors next to the fruit trees – a feast for the senses.

This Ibiza restaurant’s food is a fusion of Italian and Israeli cuisine, the two origins of its owners. This is a special place to visit while you’re here in Ibiza.

8. Unexpected and technological: The Sublimotion

Trust us, you have no idea what to expect of the Sublimotion! This is notably the most expensive restaurant in Ibiza and in the world. Its owner is chef Paco Roncero, who reinvented himself in 2018 to make this restaurant a reality for all.

Here, you’ll enjoy an exclusive experience with no more than 12 people. The restaurant is the most technological in existence and houses an audiovisual show to surprise the diners over about three hours. This Ibiza restaurant is normally open from June 1st to the end of September. In July, August, and September there are two shifts so that 24 diners per day can enjoy the experience. Coverage per person is around €1,600.

9. El Carmen

Any list of the best restaurants in Ibiza must have El Carmen somewhere. Locals consider this the most magical spot on the island, facing the sea and the islets of Es Vedra and Es Vedranell.

An exemplary rendition of Ibiza’s cuisine, dishes include fresh fish and rice specialities but really, you should visit El Carmen for the desserts. All our visitors rave about how well they ate if they topped their meal off with a flan or sweet tart.

10. Not broken but rocking: El Roto

A combination of food, fashion, tradition, music, atmosphere, and privileged views are what you’ll find at El Roto, “broken” in Spanish. One of the most exciting of Ibiza restaurants, you’ll enjoy typical Mediterranean meals with Arabic, Greek and Italian influences.   Since it opened in July 2019, El Roto is said to have become a benchmark in the list of the best restaurants in Ibiza.

11. Elegant and sophisticated: El Amante

Views, nature, and amazing cuisine:  these define “the Lover” just as you would expect for a restaurant of this name – everyone leaves the eatery enamored with its view over the cove of Sol d'en Serra. You can try to keep your eyes on your loved one and off the view!
Serving modern Spanish and Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner, the elegant and sophisticated menu adds to the atmosphere that makes El Amante one of the most romantic restaurants in Ibiza.

12. Sa Caleta

Last but never least, Sa Caleta has been in business since 1988 by the Pujolet family who takes great care of its recipes of succulent fish, shellfish, and paella. Their ingredients are selected daily from the best products on the island, such that you’ll be drinking exquisitely and eating the local seafood, caught by local fishermen.

The vegetables are sourced from their own organic garden, so absolutely no logistical damage is done to them. At this restaurant, you can also enjoy a massage, browse their fashion boutique, and slip into the relaxation area, with a cocktail bar serving natural juices.
If your mouth isn’t watering after reading this review of the best restaurants in Ibiza, we call it quits! We hope you’ve enjoyed reading this selection of the top restaurants in central Ibiza, North and South of the island.

All that’s left is for you to choose your favourite and book your room and board in Ibiza
